Art in the Open 2008 was an outdoor (en plein air) painting festival held in Wexford on the August Bank Holiday weekend

Invited artists were be joined by many more artists from around the country to meet the challenge of painting on the spot around Wexford’s charming streets and harbour.

The weekend had an emphasis on fun and finished with an exhibition of paintings and drawings made throughout the weekend in Whites Hotel in conjunction with the Pigyard Gallery.

Adudicators Jim Doolan, Paddy Lennon and Bob Lynn had the difficult task of choosing award winners in six categories as well as the overall winner.

Young artists also had the opportunity to take part in the childrens exhibition.
